With all due respect to Wizkid and the great Nigerian scene in general, this figure is nonsense. The album would have been top 5 for the year with 5 million sales on IFPI's global listing; it wasn't top 50 (cut: 1.2 million).

It doesn't come as a surprise: the entire Nigerian music market was below 1 million legitimate physical album sales for 2011. That is, all albums combined.

Superstar is the most-owned 2011 Nigerian album on Discogs, so its popularity isn't in question. But 5 million sales in a year are completely out of line with the market size.
