I was thinking about this passage today. it has something to say to us.
βAs Jesus came near and saw the city, he wept over it, saying, βIf you, even you, had only recognized on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.β Luke 19:41-42
Love to see this.
βThey will not need to take wood out of the field or cut down any trees in the forests, for they will make their fires of the weapons; they will despoil those who despoiled them, and plunder those who plundered them, says the Lord God.β
Ezekiel 39:10 NRSV
The NRA buys off Congress. No action on guns.
The oil industry buys off Congress. No action on climate.
Insurance companies buy off Congress. No action on health care.
Pharma buys off Congress. No action on drug prices.
Money in politics is the root of our dysfunction.
These βpro-lifeβ politicians are killing us.
Pro-birth is not pro-life.
Life doesnβt begin at conception and end at birth.
You canβt be pro-life and ignore gun violence. It is the #1 cause of death for our kidsβ¦ after they are born.
@SenBobCasey How about dumping the filibuster to reduce the easy access to and ridiculous proliferation of guns?
NRA backed politicians arenβt going to budge no matter the death toll so get it done w/out them. Pass quality voting rights legislation while youβre at it. Thanks
βAlthough our iniquities testify against us, act, O Lord, for your name's sake; our apostasies indeed are many, and we have sinned against you.β
Jeremiah 14:7 NRSV https://t.co/FjhAHMAQPc
βYou grew weary from your many wanderings, but you did not say, βIt is useless.β You found your desire rekindled, and so you did not weaken.β Isaiah 57:10 NRSV
We chase to next dopamine hit when we know it doesnβt last. God save us.
ββThere is no peace,β says the Lord, βfor the wicked.ββ
Isaiah 48:22 NRSV
Continue to pray for peace in areas where there is none. Lift up those who pursue it. Be a peacemaker at home, work and play.
"The goal of a Christian life becomes not enlightenment but wholeness β an acceptance of this complicated and muddled bundle of experiences as a possible theater for Godβs creative work.β
