@C2AJ@PLSBC@margarethagan @A2JamieMac What about simply "litigant".
Placing a qualifier in front of litigant diminishes their agency. It turns the focus into whether or not they are represented. And takes it away from whether they feel heard and achieved a just resolution of their issue.
@PLSBC@BCProvCourt @EveryoneLegalBC @legalaidbc Here is the slidedeck we presented at the conference hosted by @LSCtweets on how we measure whether we're making a difference: https://t.co/DooqgJsF1J
The talk will highlight how at @PLSBC we ask five questions of users to tap into whether we’re making a difference in their lives. And our team sees the results on our real-time data dashboard, as described here by our tech partner @tangowork. https://t.co/0CemTQkCuV
Looking forward to presenting with @tangowork at #lscitc with a short tech talk on how a data dashboard can help answer the question: do we make a difference?
It took a while, but finally put together highlights of our bike tour in Iceland last summer. Featuring the hardest hiking trail we've ever brought our bikes on, plus waterfalls, volcanoes, glaciers, fierce winds, and other Icelandic attractions.

Crisply put by the former chief justice: "You can’t use your freedoms in a way that unreasonably conflicts with or affects the freedoms of other people. The freedoms guaranteed by the Charter stop where they harm others. With freedom comes responsibility." https://t.co/ELa8jXFeRs
@a2jweekbc @jordan_law21 Excellent keynote. Love the theme of empowering people.
This aligns with what people want. Legal Aid BC's surveying on what would help lead to a better outcome with their legal problem, people favour *additional or better information* over a lawyer. https://t.co/G5asaPpV6w
@lawtech_a2j Cool to see this deeper dive. I too found the Maryland passport initiative to be among the most impressive featured at the LSC conference last month.
@lawtech_a2j Thanks for the shoutout for our use of headless content management at @PLSBC. Love this:
"But, never mind how it works, the time saving is valuable and the increase of speed significant."
Beautifully distills our experience :)
@craigmod Love this bike ride! Amazing bridges and such a quirky, glorious mix of islands. Our account from biking it three years ago: https://t.co/65QBuw8fJx
Our third webinar in a three-part series on putting your affairs in order focuses in on representation agreements. Featuring an amazing panel of lawyers and notaries.
Last week, we taught you about powers of attorney. Next week, on the 23rd at noon, we'll get you up to speed on rep agreements. Join returning speakers @AmyMortimore and Zach from @ClarkWilsonLLP and @davidnotary for another free webinar. Sign up today! https://t.co/MXuVr5ivJG
@passittobulis@JeffVeillette Indeed, totally with Daniel here. The defender is moving in a natural way as he tries to defend. The ball is struck with pace within two metres of him, and takes a sharp upward angle. There's no way that should be a handball.
