@Brett_A_Taylor It can also be pretty meaningless as well just like it was for Morel. Everyone was pointing out how good his bat speed, exit velo, and hard hit rate was but it didn't lead to positive results. PCA needs to increase his contact and work on his patience to take the next step.
@TheDatLie@TheWrigleyWire He's more likely to be on Hortons path than Steeles. Better stuff than Steele. Command will be key. Perhaps if there's no path to starting because everyone stays healthy and Steele is back then perhaps some looks in the bullpen are in order like Brown.
@SportsCenter How is that cinema? It was a fast break uncontested dunk in the 2nd quarter. Doncic had 46 pints and Lebron 24 yet he gets all the love. I get he's 41 but he's taken a lot of games off over the years.... Weak post SC
@37stejbrown @Sam05500264798 @Gazza1550@SactoDude84@Gambo987 Sam is not wrong and you just proved him right by saying $46 is the luxury tax hit which is correct. The Dodgers are paying Ohtani $2 million per year in present day money. They will pay him the other $680 in years 11-20. But you're right about the escrow.
@SmithersPG @Sam_Phalen@TMORGANorderly Ignorant comment. Yes some owners could spend more but nothing close to the Dodgers. How is the Pirates spending $50 million more or whatever going to make them compete with LA. Creating a cap will also create a floor. Players will still get paid
@AngeIsecin@GP1800SVHO@Sam_Phalen@TMORGANorderly Not all owners are billionaires and no team has the cash available to them like the Dodgers. Dodgers are owned by a $300+ billion firm. Also revenue is misleading. You do know the difference between revenue and profit, right? Many teams have and would be operating at a loss.
@Right_TC@FullCountTommy No Cubs fan was saying that in November. Maybe in June. He fell flat on his face after the all star break and when the Cubs needed him the most.
@CUBZbearz @3xFantasyLounge@stlcubsfan1@FullCountTommy You realize Tucker was still great after the broken hand. His numbers didn't plummet until after the ASB. The hand injury happened in June. Cubs would've been better off continuing to let Ballo bat instead of Tucker in the playoffs.
@barstoolWSD@RaiseTheRuff11 Wow you have no idea about the Dodgers financials vs other teams if you think others can do what they've done. Get out of here with that lazy take and so some research. And don't just look at revenues because that's not the same as profits
@ozymandias606@CubsSkipper At no point was an extension or resigning in the cards. Everyone knew he was going to test out FA after the season and Cubs were not going to be top bidder.
@gen_x4ever@MissionVlyMafia I guarantee you they don't get as much revenue as the Dodgers. Not close. The absolutely cannot go dollar for dollar with them.
@DCermGuards@PTurn_219@GreenBaseUSM@schadjoe Having a cap also means there would be a floor. So top teams spend less and bottom teams spend more. Same amount of money is going to players but would reduce the top end so guys like Tucker wouldn't get $57 million and a guy like Nico would get more than $11.5.
@DcalWhatever@CookedByJaguar Revenue and net profit are not the same. Yankees are making plenty but only quoting revenue is leaving out reality. Braves for example have operated at net profit loss despite high revenues.
@khrisody@Jared_Carrabis You two are going to die on this hill of defending the Dodgers and blaming the other owners. Sorry you're just flat out wrong. Bad take. Other owners don't have anywhere near this amount of money. Sure they can spend more but doesn't stop the Dodgers from being a problem
@khrisody@PatrickRich0308@j_macgeever@Juice61923@Jared_Carrabis If you create a cap then there would be a floor as well. So it would make the bottom teams spend more like you're wanting but making so teams can't do what the Dodgers are doing and the Mets to some extent. Players still get paid plenty but evens the playing field a bit.
