@DavidDeutschOxf@Richie_OFarrell The post-modernists didn’t take this idea from Popper; They took a related idea from the idealists, especially Kant and Schopenhauer. Popper took this same idea and refined it and made it compatible with realism.

@DeutschExplains It is incorrect to say that what Popper means by seeking out the truth is trying to locate errors. The goal is truth, we approach it by creating ever truer theories. The role criticism plays is showing us where we need to create better theories.

@Richie_OFarrell If you mean that humans create generalisations, then yes you are correct. But that does not mean we infer them from evidence. Hume’s argument shows that this is a contradiction.
