DFM Team at #GAF9, Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand!
Our Working Group on Gender & Social Economy hosted two special sessions on gendered economies of dried fish in Asia bringing DFM scholars and researchers together from across South and Southeast Asia.

Congratulations to Safina Naznin on successfully defending her Master's thesis at @umanitoba! Her thesis titled, "Occupational Health and Hygienic Provision For Dried Fish Processing Workers in Bangladesh: A Gendered Perspective," is an important contribution to DFM research.
Presented my research at Mare conference 2025, held at the University of Amsterdam. My work engaged the questions of gender in context of dried fish production in the Indian Sundarbans. I am grateful to @DriedFishUM and @iitkharagpur for making this journey possible.

We ended 2024 on a high note! 🎉 DFM Master’s student Aklima Akter successfully defended her thesis, “The Social Wellbeing of Women Engaged in Dried Fish Value Chains in Bangladesh,” supervisied by Dr. Derek Johnson, and committee members Dr. Md. Siddiqur Rahman & Dr. Ellen Judd!
