This is the Twitter feed for the Midtown Kansas City chapter of Drinking Liberally. We meet every Wednesday night and on the third Sunday of each month.
Kafka-land at UC Berkeley https://t.co/7z2ORHGngH I was reading this article on the trolley yesterday when I got a text that democratic candidate Kay Abughazaleh was indicted for protesting Ice. Kafka is alive and well.
If you are horrified by what happened in Majdal Shams yet has not said anything in the past 10 months about the 15k+ children killed in Gaza, or the 10 in the last 2 days, or the 17 people just today, then you really need to take a second and think about your selective sympathy
This weekend, the Israeli military destroyed yet another water source in Gaza, bombing a reservoir in the Tel Sultan neighborhood of Rafah. In a disgusting affront to Jewish values and traditions, an Israeli soldier released this footage, writing that the bombing was “in honor of Shabbat.” We are horrified. Not in our name.
Wanna know why I've worked for @BernieSanders for 25 years? Moments like this. Hearing a woman tell Bernie the cost of her inhaler fell from $300 to $20 & knowing she is 1 of the millions with asthma who benefited financially from our efforts to take on the greed of big Pharma.
HUGE THANK YOUS to our comrades from @MidMoDSA and @KansasCityDSA who came out today to knock doors for @RepCori! We so appreciate your support and solidarity ✊
I will never back down in speaking truth to power.
The apartheid government of Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians. Palestinians will not be erased. Solidarity with all those outside of these walls in the streets protesting and exercising their right to dissent.
Thank you President Biden for making the right decision when it mattered most. Trump nearly destroyed democracy because he couldn’t let go of power. It wasn’t easy for you, but you did let go. And that makes all the difference. On behalf of the party and the country, thank you!
We just have to keep the faith and remember who we are.
We are the UNITED States of America, and there is nothing beyond our capacity—when we do it together.
