Econet Zimbabwe remains silent after a massive data breach exposed the personal information of over 800,000 customers, now reportedly being sold on the dark web. Instead of issuing a statement and warning users about potential scams, the company has yet to respond.
Meanwhile, many Econet users are receiving WhatsApp messages from unknown numbers, including some from Nigeria and India. Even after blocking one number, scammers quickly contact them from another. Econetโs lack of action raises serious concerns about its commitment to customer security.
