@MreMOEtional There's a 7 drop that's actually worth it's cost to play, and people want to go back to playing 2 drops and praying to see one in their opener.
Genuinely interested in playing magic again, and have actually zero clue how to even begin to engage with it.
What formats am I supposed to care about? What events am I supposed to look for? Do I have to play digitally?
@Pastrytime Locally, there's a good mix of formats, I get to play some paper legacy for the first time in a decade or so which is neat.
Modern and standard seem to have a reasonable scene.
@Pastrytime More than anything, I want to interact with people in person.
I've played enough MODO / Digital TCGs, and I don't care to run on the digital hamster wheel anymore these days.
I'd like to have the ability to play in some big comp event now and then, but don't need that often.
@The_Blevins Games certainly good, and I’m not gonna just drop it completely, but I’m here to interact with people and 20 person legacy events vs 7 person riftbound is hard to argue with
@jpftw Still dealing with post-move fallout, but other than the expected issues, I’d definitely say things are going well.
I wouldn’t expect to be just quitting riftbound, but magic is definitely more popular here.
Cville was a good time, wish I was there longer
Not a fan of this cards templating.
Play card, show opp hidden card in hand, shuffle hand to conceal info, hide a card.
Just template it as you may hide a card this turn for free, or show off a hidden card for a floating power.
@MreMOEtional “Before hiding a card that could be anything, first show me a card, shuffle your hand so I don’t know if you hid that same card, then hide a card that could be anything.”
Why are we wasting everyone’s time with this song and dance that is never going to matter?
@MreMOEtional Why are we wasting 15 seconds making them show me a card, then shuffle their hand so that it could be a different hidden card?
Just annoying busywork without a purpose
I asked my wife if she thought it would be ok if you only pile shuffled a deck at an event.
She is aggressively disinterested in cards games and was 80% sure the answer was no.
“I was lazy and was an idiot when talking to a judge” - Sure, believable.
“I didn’t know” - 🧐
