@RobShaw_BC With the removal of the road test and a shift to an unproven probation system that relies on police enforcement, more unsafe drivers will slip through the cracks, just like this 17 year old did — often not caught until it’s too late. No family should have to deal with this loss.
@timescolonist I ask this question all the time…..if almost 1 in 3 new drivers fail the class 5 test and then we’re just removing it, and the passenger restrictions as well, “Do you want to drive with these new drivers?” We’re talking approximately 30,000 new drivers each year failing!
With all of our pressing challenges, it’s remarkable that government has decided that lowering the bar to get a drivers license is a priority. A lot of people would tell you we already have too many drivers who shouldn’t be on the road, and testing should become harder, not eliminated. The logic for this change is an indictment on government as well - we have too long of a backlog for testing so let’s get rid of testing. Brilliant - shall we apply this to other life safety regulations?
@sager_lucy@RobShaw_BC Hi Lucy! I’m curious, why isn’t that data available or shared with stakeholders? If removing the Class 5 test makes roads safer, can’t they show us the proof. What replaces it to ensure the same skill and safety?
@CHEK_News@chek_news drivers are now allowed to cross over a double solid yellow line, if it’s safe, in order to achieve the new distances. However, do all drivers know “when it’s safe?”

@WestJet Trying to cancel a flight today and have been trying for over three days. Can’t reach anyone! I thought you’d want to know that we won’t be showing up!
@WestJet Your employee named “Precious” is unfortunately NOT PRECIOUS and is a disgrace to your company. WestJet, this is not how you handle your customers. You’re better than this! I can appreciate an outage, it happens and there’s nothing we can do about it BUT hire people who care!
