Shocked that there was no offside review on the STL-VGK game-deciding goal, sure looked like Vegas was offside because the puck carrier lost possession
@CJTDevil you're not appreciating the fact that the Devils risked incurring bonuses on to next year's cap, that concern is gone if they don't pick up substantial money today
Karlsson wasn't traded for a 1st. The Penguins traded a 1st for the Sharks to take on Hoffman, Rutta, and Granlund. If the ballast weren't in the deal, Karlsson would likely be dealt for nothing (and rightly so)
@camcharronyvr oh absolutely - philadelphia's front office is way too leaky - but I believe this deal was nixed by the league b/c deangelo had been on carolina's reserve list and he couldn't be traded back there with retention
@camcharronyvr I don't think speaking to insiders killed this one, and I don't think they lost any money by doing this; they were probably trading DeAngelo w/ max retention
Puckdoku Game 9 - 9/9🏆:
82 Uniqueness
🟩🟩🟩
🟩🟩🟩
🟩🟩🟩
I blow myself up most days going for something too obscure but I don't think anyone's beating an 82 today
@wingingitmotown I don't think so. It's obviously extremely unusual for players to be put on waivers at this time of year and I don't really know why it would be done
I'd be concerned that the NHL would make such contracts onerous in the next CBA, e.g. that a player over 40 signed to a 3 or more year deal cannot be placed on LTIR
"I hear that Tampa’s last offer to Killorn was eight years at a $2.5 million AAV, which is $20 million total..."
From @PierreVLeBrun. I don't know why more teams don't go wild on term in order to get the AAV down on players like this
