The 2022 baseball recruiting class got screwed from the start.
They walked into the NIL explosion, fought for playing time behind COVID super-seniors, navigated nonstop transfer chaos, and didn’t even have full scholarships until THIS YEAR.
Now the new 5-to-play-5 rule gives every younger class a full extra season while they get cut off at 4.
Fair fix: True 4th-year seniors deserve ONE optional 5th year at their current school only. No transferring for the extra year.
Minimal impact. @NCAABaseball@NCAA
This is horrible! The high school class of 2022 is getting burned on both ends. They were squeezed by the COVID kids as college freshman and now they aren't allow an additional year of eligibility as college seniors. My heart is broken for these kids.
Brody Robinson and Mackenzie Luehring win Men’s and Women’s Newcomer of the Year at the Black and Gold Awards. One a senior transfer, one a freshman recruit.
They each finished the season with 36 and 39pts respectively in the opening round loss in the conference tournament.

36 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, a Horizon League Tournament record 10 threes. 16 points in the last 1:52 of the game. If that was Brody Robinson’s only postseason performance as a Golden Grizzly what a way to do it
I’ve gotten a lot of questions about where to find last nights press conference, it was finally posted this morning. Kampes words are worth hearing, particularly his last answer https://t.co/pTISaXcPt2
I’m sharing today’s actual front page, just for Brett — who cracked me up when at a recent practice, he kind of bragged, “I know what a newspaper is!” Brett is 28, after all.
