@razorfist While marked as new on that store, I believe Evil Hat released this title in 2021 after a successful Kickstarter campaign.
The Shoujo Kakumei Utena aesthetic is clear, though I have no further knowledge of the rules.
@waywardstrategy It is a miracle.
I mean this in the context of the team that brought you "it's good UX to make the Start Menu button change position depending on how many programs you have open."
@waywardstrategy @NakamuraRTS Wait... Homeworld 3 is OUT?!
Jeez, I'm supposed to stay on top of these things for work and it completely flew under my radar.
@docsquiddy Meh. The name is appropriate (at least as far as what's shown on trailers is concerned), siloing available terminology doesn't scale, and sure they'll get some free eyes on it due to the tag (though most likely it'll be buried.)
Don't think it's worth the moral hassle to care.
@pangalactic I've found the best results treating them like monetary debt and picking either the snowball or avalanche methods (reading in ascending or descending length/difficulty order) depending on whether I want to accrue momentum or get big wins.
@waywardstrategy In most games better economy execution should be less effective than better military execution.
E.G. In SC2, improving economy execution (not just decision-making) is a beginner's most effective improvement strategy. This betrays the gameplay fantasy of both game & genre.
Just as you make your design modular to remove the necessity for a reader to:
a) Have read the entire work.
b) Hold its contents in their head.
You also want to avoid to confuse readers that have done either (or both) of these things. Make the same thing be the same thing.
There is a standard for usability that asks of the product to provide just the information that is needed when it is needed. This is not repetition but redundancy.
This means that if you explain a technique in one recipe (such as how to temperature-test a cake), and another recipe would benefit from that technique, you copy that explanation over.
It might seem repetitive, but we can't assume the reader read the other recipe.
There are some caveats:
The information needs to be reliable: do not *almost* copy the same technique, do not present an incomplete version of the technique or slight variation of the technique (or do so with ample, ridiculous warning.)
@Voxels @sumokirby Sorry, I didn't communicate clearly.
What I meant was that in the books, it's quite clear Paul isn't squeamish about movilizing the Fremen. I felt that, in the movie, he's much more hesitant at this point and sees himself with little recourse but to follow through.
@Voxels @sumokirby Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam:
- She glimpsed the jihad and said: "You cannot loose this people [the Fremen] upon the universe!"
Muad'Dib:
- "You will think back to the gentle ways of the Sardaukar!" Paul snapped.
...
It's no secret.
@docsquiddy My dad watched me play AoE as a kid. Not only could I explain, in non-lingo, what was happening in the game... he didn't need the explanation in the first place!*
* for the most part of course, I'm generalising.
@docsquiddy AoE also portrayed an on-screen fiction that was easy to grasp because it matched our surface level understanding of human development.
Of course you need houses to house the growing population, of course you start as hunter/gathererers before moving onto agriculture...
