“Affordability” as a political issue is interesting because it mostly exists as a way to attack your opponents. There is no political party that will achieve the stated desire of the voting public, which is reducing nominal prices. There’s no policy to bring back the dollar menu.
@lymanstoneky@MarcNovicoff The answer to this question (and people won't admit it because it destroys their priors) is that
1. Women don't like getting creampied as often. When they do, they take contraceptives to terminate/mitigate the risk of pregnancy.
2. Women don't like having children.
@bigseb31213@ThatchEffendi Jan 6 was actually two separate coup attempts in one. It’s my personal belief that he would have done much better if he didn’t sick the mob on Congress.
Eh, I don’t think the judiciary subordinate the parliament is basically in anyways a threat to democracy in the UK for the most part. I think the founders completely over-indexed this as “judicial tyranny” as you may call it is ironically only a concern in the United States out of all other developed western democracies.
@BoldDaB@dfadsdaf94761@hutchinson This is literally what he is saying. Democrats had massive, sometimes veto proof majorities. Unless you have a plan to slip the deeply racist and bigoted maga seats to become rainbow buttplug liberal seats then this doesn’t matter because they literally do not have the votes.
@BoldDaB@hutchinson Okay, what is your plan for flipping maga seats to progressive Democrat seats that would support a transformational progressive agenda.
@ScottyOld@bill64bailey@hutchinson I think raising the minimum wage is pretty popular. When they tried to do it in ‘21 they didn’t have enough votes because the Republicans (and a few red state senate democrats) didn’t want it!
@nickbii10@bigseb31213 That was the old system. This changed this a couple of years ago, it's now 40% at 20 years and an additional 2.0% for every year after that up to a maximum of around 40 years. (Same statutory 75% cap).
But then they paired it with a matching 4% 401(k) match.
Much better imo
@IncidentNoodle@lawdog_on_x@MattZeitlin They basically put some detergents and chemicals in their fuel which is supposed to keep the engine running a little cleaner internally but it’s not something you’ll notice.
