She had run her own business in South Africa & was a passionate horse lover.

Just over two months later in USA 🇺🇸 she died by suicide in Houston, Texas.

Despite an impressive CV, Carin reportedly struggled with loneliness, depression & finding employment in America. Her cousin said she had wanted to return to South Africa.

Her tragic death highlights the difficult reality of starting over in a foreign country, leaving home doesn't automatically mean finding a better life.

Field rangers in the Kruger National Park have recovered the remains of a man from Mestel Dam after he allegedly entered the water while attempting to evade arrest for illegal net-fishing.

The incident occurred in the early hours of 28 August 2026, when field rangers intercepted four individuals allegedly involved in illegal net-fishing.

While three of the individuals complied with the rangers’ instructions and were taken into custody, the fourth reportedly fled into the dam in an attempt to evade arrest.

A search operation was subsequently launched. However, on 31 August 2026, monitoring rangers spotted human remains in the water. The remains were recovered from the dam, bringing the search to a tragic end.

The newly appointed members of the Executive Council were officially sworn into office on the morning of Wednesday, 2 September 2026.

The reconstituted Limpopo Executive Council is as follows:

- Education: Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya
- Social Development: Florence Radzilani
- Transport and Community Safety: Nakedi Kekana
