A huge proportion of senior medics are considering retiring (& thats before they understand the implications of McCloud). Retention (as well as recruitment) are BOTH hugely important.

As per @TheBMA survey, a *huge* driver of ..

Something like 77% of consultants (survey Mar '21) said pensions taxation was the main driver

This *must* be fixed @RishiSunak @sajidjavid - once they are gone this becomes irreversible. And you can make as many med school

3/4 places as you like, but they wont plug the workforce gap as consultants for well over a decade, often closer to 2 decades.

We *urgently* need changes to pension taxation (as well as a fair pay award)
