GSEM organized a Roundtable session - “From Port to Fab: Building a Resilient Ecosystem for Semiconductor Manufacturing”, bringing together key stakeholders across the semiconductor value chain. The session was convened under the august presence of Hon’ble DST Minister, Shri @arjunmodhwadia Ji.

The session witnessed insightful remarks from senior leadership across government, academia, and international partners, including Shri. Manishkumar Hooda, Director ISM, Dr. Rajendra kumar IAS, MD GSFC Ltd, Shri. S D Sudarsan CDAC Bangalore, and Ms. Eva Verstraelen Flanders Investment & Trade (Belgium). followed by inputs from anchor investors (Tata Electronics, Micron Technology, Kaynes Semicon, CG Semi, and Suchi Semicon) on ecosystem readiness.

Ecosystem players including Merck, Fujifilm, Nippon Express, and IndieSemic, along with participants from SCL Mohali and Enterprise Singapore, contributed insights on enabling capabilities.

An engaging open discussion with Linde, FedEx, and Mundra Port highlighted the significant opportunity in the upstream materials and consumables market.

A key milestone was the facilitation of MoUs worth ~₹3,142 Cr, with a potential employment generation of ~2,050.

માનનીય વડાપ્રધાન શ્રી નરેન્દ્રભાઈ મોદીના વરદ્હસ્તે સાણંદ ખાતે કેન્સ સેમિકોનની OSAT સુવિધા તથા કોમર્શિયલ પ્રોડક્શનનો મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી ભૂપેન્દ્રભાઈ પટેલ, કેન્દ્રીય ઇલેક્ટ્રોનિક્સ અને IT મંત્રી શ્રી અશ્વિની વૈષ્ણવ, નાયબ મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી હર્ષભાઈ સંઘવી, સાયન્સ-ટેકનોલોજી મંત્રી શ્રી અર્જુનભાઈ મોઢવાડિયા, સેમિકન્ડક્ટરના ક્ષેત્રના અગ્રણીઓ તથા દેશ-વિદેશના અન્ય મહાનુભાવોની ઉપસ્થિતિમાં શુભારંભ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો.

અત્રે ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે અંદાજિત ₹3300 કરોડના ખર્ચે સાણંદ સ્થિત કેન્સ સેમિકોનની આ અત્યાધુનિક OSAT સુવિધા ગુજરાત તથા ભારત માટે સેમિકન્ડક્ટર ક્ષેત્રે ઐતિહાસિક માઇલસ્ટોન સાબિત થશે. આ વિશાળ પ્રોજેક્ટ દ્વારા દૈનિક આશરે 60 લાખ DRAM ચિપ્સનું ઉત્પાદન શક્ય બનશે, જેના પરિણામે ભારતની ઇલેક્ટ્રોનિક્સ ઉત્પાદન ક્ષમતામાં નોંધપાત્ર વધારો થશે અને આયાત પરની નિર્ભરતા ઘટશે. સાથે જ આ પ્લાન્ટ દ્વારા આશરે 2000 જેટલી સીધી અને પરોક્ષ રોજગારીના અવસર ઊભા થશે તેમજ અદ્યતન ટેકનોલોજી અને વૈશ્વિક ભાગીદારીના સહકારથી ગુજરાતને સેમિકન્ડક્ટર હબ તરીકે સ્થાપિત કરવામાં આ પ્રોજેક્ટ મહત્વપૂર્ણ યોગદાન આપશે. ‘મેક ઇન ઇન્ડિયા’ અને ‘આત્મનિર્ભર ભારત’ના વિઝનને મજબૂત બનાવતા આ પ્રોજેક્ટથી ભારત માનનીય વડાપ્રધાનશ્રીના દિશાદર્શનમાં વૈશ્વિક સેમિકન્ડક્ટર વેલ્યૂ ચેઇનનો ખૂબ જ મહત્વનો હિસ્સો બનશે.

માનનીય વડાપ્રધાનશ્રીએ આ અવસરને સાણંદ અને સિલિકોન વેલી વચ્ચે એક નવા બ્રિજના નિર્માણ કરતો અવસર ગણાવી જણાવ્યું હતું કે, સાણંદમાં ઉત્પાદિત મોડ્યુલ્સ અમેરિકન કંપનીઓ સુધી પહોંચશે અને ત્યાંથી, સમગ્ર વિશ્વને શક્તિ આપશે, અને ‘મેક ઇન ઇન્ડિયા, મેક ફોર ધ વર્લ્ડ’ મંત્રની સફળતા સમગ્ર વિશ્વમાં ગુંજશે. કેન્સના આ પ્લાન્ટમાંથી ઉત્પાદિત પ્રોડક્ટ ‘Factory of the World’ બનવાની ભારતની યાત્રાને નવી ગતિ આપશે તેવો વિશ્વાસ માનનીય વડાપ્રધાનશ્રીએ વ્યક્ત કર્યો હતો.

મુખ્યમંત્રીશ્રીએ આ અવસરે જણાવ્યું હતું કે, માનનીય વડાપ્રધાન શ્રી નરેન્દ્રભાઈ મોદીનું વિઝન છે કે, ડિજિટલ અને ટેકનોલોજીના ક્ષેત્રે વૈશ્વિક ક્રાંતિમાં ભારત અગ્રણી રાષ્ટ્ર બને અને આ વિઝનને સાકાર કરવામાં ગુજરાત અગ્રેસર રહે. તેમણે ગૌરવભેર જણાવ્યું હતું કે, ગુજરાતને સેમિકન્ડક્ટર ક્ષેત્રે ‘ફ્યુચર રેડી’ બનાવવાના ઉદ્દેશ્ય સાથે આપણે વર્ષે 2022માં ગુજરાત સેમિકન્ડક્ટર પોલિસી લોન્ચ કરેલ છે. મુખ્યમંત્રીશ્રીએ સેમિકન્ડક્ટર ક્ષેત્રને પ્રોત્સાહન આપીને આત્મનિર્ભર ભારતના નિર્માણમાં મહત્તમ યોગદાન માટે રાજ્ય સરકારની પ્રતિબદ્ધતા વ્યક્ત કરી હતી.
