We’re very close to a new breakthrough in science. Clinical trials for new tuberculosis #TB vaccines remain on track, and will deliver efficacy results within the next two years showing how well the vaccines work.
TB is still the world’s deadliest infectious disease, yet no new vaccine has been approved in over 100 years.
As these clinical trials proceed, we need to ensure that the novel TB vaccines, will be available equitably across the world to meet the global target of reducing new cases by 80% by 2030.
#WorldTBDay: UWC MSc Pharmaceutical Sciences student Athembile Centane is exploring nanoparticles that help the immune system better recognise and fight TB bacteria. Learn more on Tuesday, 24 March, at the grass between A and B Block. #IAmUWC

Yes.
Writing is not a second thing that happens after thinking. The act of writing is an act of thinking. Writing *is* thinking.
Students, academics, and anyone else who outsources their writing to LLMs will find their screens full of words and their minds emptied of thought.
Contributed to an interesting study @dariog_helsinki on the safety assessment of engineered nanomaterials, bridging data gaps & revealing toxicity mechanisms related to environmental nanomaterial exposures, integrating expert knowledge w computational models

As biomaterials become increasingly central in immunotherapies, vaccines and tissue regeneration, engineers must embrace immune complexity in their models and frameworks to develop therapies that balance personalization with generalization and feasibility. https://t.co/9lJmSuB7xz
