My Uncle was shot six times in an ambush in France post-D Day. Only survivor in his patrol. Years in hospital, never fully recovered and ultimately died due to complications from wounds. Became a Civil Rights lawyer in part motivated by what he saw of Germany’s brutality.

His story isn’t unusual. Hundreds of thousands of Americans & Allies sacrificed to protect Europe from tyranny. What would that Greatest Generation say if they saw another monster regime attacking a European democracy and we have the ability to help save them and don’t?

No American lives at risk, less than 5% of our defense budget, 90% spent in the US, and we hesitate? We let a spoiled rich brat like @mtgreenee denigrate the legacy of our Greatest?

We can’t dishonor their sacrifice by our cowardly dysfunction. Help Ukraine not just because it is the right and moral action but because much of what it means to be an American will die with the Ukrainians if we look the other way.
