Despite these apparent negatives I do think the benefits of being so connected or “always on” outweighs the costs as global reach and access to information at all times has improved dramatically which benefits politics and academics #ccoms315#315Week8
This study just really shows how common the “Always On Lifestyle” is to the point where being connected resembles a reflex #ccoms315#ccomsWeek8 https://t.co/E2MrkzRvll
In response to Boyd’s quote I do feel like I’m apart of the “always on lifestyle.” Social media and phones make it so easy to always be connected and checking in on everything #ccoms315#315week8
I completely agree with Doyle that Wikipedia users should try to address any omissions. Like we talked about in week 5 representation matters and even something small like a Wikipedia article can make a difference in terms of something’s “seriousness” #ccoms315
Wikipedia has always been something teachers have warned me about using and after seeing how easy it is to edit it I kinda get their point. I still think it’s a great resource for fast facts tho #ccoms315#315Week7
Little late in tweeting about this but I really surprised in how easy it was to get an account and start editing as well as how fast somehow reached out to welcome me to the “editing community” #ccoms315#315wikichallenge

@cassandra_renda Yes I agree! Seeing big networks like Nickelodeon actively working to ensure everyone is represented is really a step in the right direction
There were so many powerful stories under #FirstTimeISawMe. It really made me reflect on how important representation is throughout the media #315Week5
IMO the increased demand for digital labor will only stratify class divisions. As the video said, only people with a certain degree of privilege can transition online. I think the gap between who can make the transition will only widen over time #315Week5
I always wondered who’s job it was to make all those buzzfeed quizzes... It seems like Buzzfeed does appreciate Rachel’s work (gifts/ Christmas cards) so as long as it’s still fun for her I don’t think she necessarily needs to get paid #315Week5
I found an article giving a bit more context on the situation but to me this seems like a company taking advantage of its online users or not fully understanding their reach

The first thing I thought of in regards to online participation was the red swimsuit from Sunny Co... despite seeing what felt like hundreds of reposts I don’t know of anyone who actually received the free swimsuit #315Week5
