My dear American friends,
We British Christians would get excited when, once a year, Queen Elizabeth would make a mild but sincere reference to the love of Jesus Christ in her Christmas address.
In Charlie Kirks' Memorial service, watched by tens of millions, I just heard:
- Multiple clear presentations of the gospel from men like @robmccoyus and @DrFrankTurek with clear calls to repentance and faith
- Worship songs full of Scripture sung by tens of thousands live and millions at home
- Personal testimonies of lives transformed by the work of Christ and the witness of believers
- Demonstration and explanation of the value of marriage, child-rearing and family
- Calls to Romans 13 for the government to bear the sword for the protection of good and punishment of the wicked
- Declarations of spiritual warfare on the forces of evil and promises to endure no matter the cost
- Calls to be prophets and call the nation to repent
- More Scripture references and Bible readings than I can count
- And a widow publicly forgiving her husband's killer because Christ forgave his killers on the cross.
All of it done before, and by, the most powerful people in your nation and the world.
You guys should be on your knees thanking God for your country. It is a light to the world.
Never stop fighting for it.
Dear dishonest corporate media hobgoblins:
Jimmy Kimmel did not make a “joke.”
Jimmy Kimmel went on air and told the ABC audience that Charlie Kirk’s assassin was a MAGA conservative, effectively blaming Charlie Kirk for his own assassination.
Then he accusing the right of covering it up to “score political points.”
All of these statements are false and malicious lies told at the expense of one of the most horrific acts of left-wing political violence in American history.
Totally indefensible. @ABC had no choice but to fire Kimmel for this.
Period.
Patrick Bet-David warns that if a major left-wing influencer is taken out in the coming days, it won’t be by accident.
He says it would prove that an “outside country” is actively trying to push America into a civil war.
I hope I'm wrong.
But tonight feels like some sort of invisible line has been crossed that we didn't even know was there. The last time I felt like this was 9/11 when it was clear, without knowing the how and the what, that the world was about to change forever.
Like the rules of the game had been permanently altered and there was simply no going to back to the innocent, peaceful past.
I didn't feel like this when an attempt was made on President Trump's life. If I had to rationalise why I didn't, I guess it's because several US Presidents have been shot at and even assassinated. Somehow it was within the realms of the possible, no matter how awful.
But to murder a young father simply for doing debates and mobilising young people to vote for a party that represents half of America? This is something else.
Charlie's death is a tragedy for his wife, his children and his family. I don't pray often. I am praying for them tonight.
But I fear his murder will be a tragedy for all of us in ways we will only understand as time unfolds.
I hope I'm wrong.
Hi again, Mike. 👋
Let’s go over this for what’s now a third time. Maybe it will sink in.
The Greenland ice sheet contains about 2.9 million gigatons (Gt) of ice. 🧊
Using the conversion factor that 1 Gt = 1 billion tons, this means that the ice sheet has roughly 2.9 million billion tons of ice.
Oh yes, math is involved!!
Now, if the ice sheet is losing 30 million tons of ice per hour, that would work out to 720 million tons of ice lost per day and a net 262.8 billion tons per year. 🫠
Here’s the math, 🫳
-30 million tons × 24 hr. (1 day) × 365 days (1 year) = -262.8 billion tons / year
262.8 billion tons of ice lost per year?
Oh my, that sounds scary! 😱
That is, of course, until you realize that at the current rate, it would take more than 11,035 years for the entire Greenland ice sheet to melt.
🏔️ ➡️ ⛰️ = >10 millennia
Let’s do more math to confirm this.
2.9 million billion tons / (262.8 billion tons / year) ≈ 11,035 years.
Now, what would this mean for sea level rise (SLR)? 🌊
Well, according to NASA, for every 360 Gt (or 360 billion tons) of ice lost, the global average sea level rises by about 1 millimeter (mm).
If 262.8 billion tons of ice is lost per year, that would mean sea level rises at a rate of 0.73 mm (~0.03 in) / year from loss of Greenland ice alone. 📏
Ignoring Antarctica, this would cause the global average sea level to rise about 1 ft. every ~417.5 years.
Now, the rate of ice loss could accelerate or decelerate depending on other factors (e.g., natural variability or positive / negative climate feedbacks), but it’s clear from these back of the envelope calculations that you are hyperventilating over nothing.
This is a very manageable problem.
So is your climate anxiety.
Just stop parroting WEF propaganda and go touch grass.
