Lung cancer screening rates are very low, w racial disparities evident among those receiving #lungcancerscreening. Neelima Navuluri, MD, PhD, @dukemedicine & other #lungcancer experts recommend system-based interventions to address the problem. Via @AJMC https://t.co/Rvhx2Wtllg
The greatest problem I saw was as an immigrant you could never take a break. Even more academia is unforgiving. If you had to take care of a loved one, got burnt out and you took a break, its over! That is often counted as "non-productive". While your counterparts may do very derivative science and only publish in collaboration, the fact that they did it counts more than very original discoveries. Not the promise of Science I went in for.
As part of @DukeU's centennial celebration, @DukeCancer hosted the 2nd annual MaryAnn Black Distinguished Health Equity Symposium. A clinical social worker for 30yrs, the late MaryAnn Black, MSW, LCSW, served the Duke & Durham community for many years.
