A few thoughts on the 2026 @JMUFootball schedule:
•Our three FBS non-conference opponents are no joke. Two are potential favorites in CUSA and the Pac-12, and the third — an independent — went 9-4 last season. (Yes, they lost their coach and key players. So did we.)
•Southern Miss and Troy met in what was essentially a Sun Belt West title game last year.
•Marshall, Georgia Southern, ODU, and App State are all coming in with belief their programs can compete for a Sun Belt title.
In the transfer portal era, even the sharpest analysts can’t predict schedule difficulty with confidence.
Let’s wait at least a few weeks into fall camp before calling this a cakewalk. #GODukes
James Madison is absolutely killing it in the portal. Brandon Lee and KJ Windham could be high level players In the Sun Belt coming from the Big Ten ranks. Delaware transfer Cavan Reilly is a pure sniper. Notre Dame transfer Garrett Sundra will add size and shooting at 6-11. Jacob Hogarth from Gardner Webb adds a little more athleticism and rebounding. Sophomore forward Preston Fowler is also back. Averaged six and four last year.
Super high upside team for Preston Spradlin.
Congratulations to Jeff Bourne on his induction into the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Hall of Fame!
He will be honored for his 25 years of service at the 61st Annual NACDA & Affiliates Convention this June.

Oh and it’s Pat and Mo. so there is plenty of fun too.

Bryan Schor took an insurance job shortly after graduating. But his heart never left football.
Nearly 10 years after leading JMU to the 2016 FCS National Championship, he’s back in Harrisonburg. This time on Billy Napier’s staff.
Louisiana's Matt Deggs tried to brawl with the whole James Madison coaching staff 🍿🍿🍿
All the chaos ensued after a Cajun player blatantly tried to truck Dukes' 1B on a bunt play.
