Many "libertarians" are simply cultural leftists with a penchant for anti-authority. This leads them to oppose being told what to do by regulators, teachers, and doctors, yet still hen peck each other into egalitarian compliance. In other words, they are, as Ayn Rand observed, "hippies of the right."
Ask what it means to be free, to be for liberty. They clamor, it means "to not be told what to do", to "not be forced."
That's not "to be" anything. That's a negative. They have no idea what they're for. Most of them just absorbed moral preferences from wherever they came from. Many are nihilists who just use politics to cope with lack of meaning.
To completely reject authority itself is to even reject one's own authority to judge for one's own life what is good and bad. This devolves into "all is good!" All except for that which says "something is better than something else", and THAT is bad! Take the logic deep enough into anti-authority and "non-aggression", and the agency of the individual completely disappears. Any one man could impact another for any action, "aggress" against him with his words, his choices, his bigotry, and he therefore must feel shame for his individualism.
Ergo, all must be permitted. Any individual resistance to this chaos cannot exist, because otherwise "liberty" is limited even by the "authority" of even the sentiment of guilt from a single man's utterance of "no."
Liberty in this sense is framed as escaping external inability, not as a goal of physical self-reliance and spiritual independence, of master morality, and thus conflict is inevitable when disagreement arises among the uniform flock of non-aggressors. The free man is a violent man.
We have a very real problem of the longterm feminization of society. But there's a deeper problem with that.
It's also *infantilization*. It's reducing everything to a child's level. It's not just turning things pink, so to speak. It's turning them pink and monosyllabic and cuddly and kindergartenesque.

The Great Awokening did not merely give America's ruling class a way to justify their position in society. It gave these people a way to present Middle America, who were being economically gutted and culturally erased, who were being politically ignored and told that their suffering was a cause for celebration because they deserved it, as the villains.
Endless accusations of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, and, if none of that worked, their whiteness and unconscious bias, served not only to protect our parasitic ruling class from any sort of accountability, but it turned the very people who had the most legitimate grievances against America's elites for their betrayal of this country into a morally acceptable punching bag.
BIZARRE: NH Democrat Stefany Shaheen refuses to answer if she endorses Graham Platner or if his conduct is acceptable.
Shaheen's staffer responds by repeatedly attacking the questioner with a donut.
WTF is wrong with Democrats? 🍩
The drawback with Alinskyian politics is that its effectiveness in accelerating the political Overton window does not correspondingly push the cultural Overton window at the same rate.
And when politics flies outside that Overton window, dysfunction follows, then correction.
Conservatives naturally understands this, which is why they are timid about sudden change, but they also defer change to the Left. Libertarians and Dissident Right activists do not understand this, which is why they will act recklessly and not "long march" and make perfect the enemy of good, and risk ceding opportunities for the Left to regain its strength.
The percentage of Republicans who believe that gay and lesbian relationships are morally acceptable has plummeted from over 50% in 2022 to 35% just four years later. GOP support is now at its lowest level since 2011.
I think we all know why this is happening.
The “I personally disagree, but adults can do what they want” mindset we all adopted over the last 10 years ended up blowing up in our faces. There is no such thing as a stable equilibrium that emerges if we just chant the Progressive incantations that “love is love” alongside our fellow libtards.
We thought that after Obergefell that this messy “social issue” would be put behind us. It was too much of a distraction. Don’t you know that we need to be talking about debt and taxes?
But the exact opposite ended up happening. Accepting gay marriage didn’t temper the Left’s appetite for eternal revolution, it emboldened these people. They immediately started trying to normalize transgenderism and turn “Pride Month” into the new Progressive Ramadan from which there was no opting out.
The Biden administration marked essentially the culmination of this cultural revolution. At that point, it became obvious to the Right that the “culture wars” weren’t a distraction. They were THE issue that would only continue to ratchet up and agitate for yet more power and wealth to be redistributed to the Left’s various client groups in the name of diversity, equity, inclusion, tolerance, and progress.
The left controlled legacy media, social media, and academia, outside of a few podcasts and boomer rage bait on Fox you couldn’t find any counter to this stuff. Zoomers have no idea how much better things have gotten
Whenever I show older relatives cultural news, they ask “how old are these people??”
I’m starting to realize they all believe in some concept whereby the people should’ve gained “maturity” in proportion to their advanced age
Logically, the theory makes sense, and I can understand why they would expect this to happen. But it just observably doesn’t
