πΈπΈ South Sudan President Salva Kiir has ordered government officials and members of the organised forces to seek his permission before travelling abroad.
The directive reportedly runs for three months, as South Sudan prepares for its December 2026 elections β the countryβs first since independence in 2011.
Kiir reiterated the requirement at a government meeting in Juba on October 10, following visits to Kenya and South Africa.
The government says the restrictions are intended to ensure accountability and continuity.
But the timing is significant: South Sudan is approaching a major political transition after Kiir dissolved the transitional government and legislative assemblies in September.
With elections approaching, questions remain about political stability, the role of the caretaker government and the future of the countryβs democratic transition.
South Sudan is preparing for its first election since independence.
The big question is whether the country can deliver a credible vote amid mounting political uncertainty. πΈπΈ
Like him or hate him, Kenyan politics will never be the same without Raila Odinga.
He was a force of his own β a man who shaped the country's political landscape for decades and whose influence transcended party lines.
You could disagree with him, oppose him, or admire him, but you could never ignore him.
May Baba continue resting in power. ποΈπ°πͺ

Meshak Yebei, an ICC witness whose body was found in River Yala, was one of the people the ICC prosecution contacted during the investigation into the 2007 post-election violence.
The ICC wanted to make Yebei a prosecution witness, but he was dropped after being linked to corrupt prosecution witnesses.
Yebei was bought and killed. Rutoβs lawyer, Karim Khan, said that Yebei was Rutoβs defence witness. How does someone end up switching sides?
When the prosecution accused Yebei of being compromised, he ended up dead. Yebei was bribed by lawyer Paul Gicheru, who was also later found dead in his house in Karen.
Kasongo will never leave anything behind that might bite him later.
