Did you know that agroforestry systems store substantial amounts of carbon in trees, shrubs, and soil. This mitigates greenhouse gas emissions, helping to combat climate change and environmental sustainability effectively.
🔊Exciting news 🗞️
I am honoured to announce that I will be attending the Clean Energy Conference Australia–Africa 2026 in Kigali, where I have the privilege of serving as the Moderator of Session 10 and I will also be speaking in Session 12 titled: “The Agri-Energy Paradox: Feeding the Future or Fueling the Grid?”.
This year’s conference will bring together policymakers, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, development partners, and industry leaders to explore practical solutions that can accelerate clean energy, climate innovation, and sustainable development across #Africa.
I will be moderating a timely and thought-provoking session titled:
“From Garbage to Gold: Is Waste-to-Energy a Breakthrough or a Band-Aid Solution?”
Together with distinguished panelists, we will examine the opportunities and challenges of waste-to-energy technologies and discuss their role in advancing the circular economy, improving waste management, and supporting Africa’s clean energy transition.
It is a privilege to facilitate this important conversation alongside:
🤝Dr. Ronald Kwena – Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation & Enterprise at University of Kigali
🤝Mr. Paulin Mburano – Managing Director & Founder, Waste Power Plant Limited
If you are passionate about clean energy, climate action, waste management, sustainability, innovation, agriculture, mining, infrastructure, finance, or policy, I encourage you to be part of this important event. The conference offers an excellent platform to learn from experts, exchange ideas, build partnerships, and contribute to shaping Africa’s sustainable future.
I look forward to engaging with participants, moderating this important discussion, and connecting with professionals committed to driving meaningful change.
See you in #Kigali on 6–7 August 2026.

Thank you to Nzirabatinya Modeste, Vice Mayor in charge of Economic Development for @KireheDistrict, and Umwali Angelique, Vice Mayor in charge of Economic Development for @BugeseraDistr, for your leadership in implementing the #TREPAproject & your support at #RwandaAgrishow2026!
We’re going to bring this heroic young man, and his family, into the White House with, perhaps, the boy he saved, to give him a High Civilian Honor. Very brave, he deserves it! President DONALD J. TRUMP
The Congo Nile Divide (#CND) Project is conducting community mobilization sessions in @KarongiDistr to raise awareness about Private Forest Management Units (PFMUs) and to gather feedback from beneficiaries.
During the 2026–2027 implementation period, the project has planned to operationalize 350 hectares of PFMUs across three sectors: #Gitesi, #Rugabano, and #Rwankuba.
Private Forest Management Units (PFMUs) provide local communities with tangible economic, social, and environmental benefits:
🟢Sustainable forest management.
🟢Climate change mitigation by enhancing carbon sequestration via forest restoration.
🟢Job creation and employment opportunities in forestry and related activities.
🟢Watershed protection by reducing soil erosion and safeguarding water resources.
🟢Community empowerment via participatory decision-making and shared responsibility in forest governance.
🟢Income generation from the sale of timber, fuelwood, and non-timber forest products (NTFPs) such as honey and essential oil.
🟢Improved community livelihoods through diversified forest-based benefits.
