I can't believe it! My picturebook manuscript for "Too Small" is the WINNER of @CANSCAIP ’s 2019 Writing for Children Competition! Thank you to the Competition readers and juries for this great honour.
Proud of my daughter @emteehall Maggie Tokuda-Hall for standing up against racism by virtue of refusing to be censored by Scholastic for her powerful book "Love in the Library". Here's a link to an interview with her today about this: https://t.co/6ZXK8Qo5tI

"Several new groups of writers, editors and agents are trying to increase Latino representation in children's literature. They're working in different ways, and have their own stories to tell." https://t.co/n029RyyxWj (via @nprbooks)
Imagine the world of a difference it would make to a Latinx child to grow up reading books about Latinx folk, written by Latinx folks.
Latinx children deserve to have books like these in their schools. #HHM https://t.co/w5WSRNnxSN
Thanks to #NoMowMay we have about 30 of these in the lawn - along with carpets of other flowers, providing for actual bees and other pollinators! #EveryoneHappy
Want to make a difference? Talk to your kids about the racist incidents of the past week. Let them see Central Park & George Floyd (you know what ages can handle what). The conversation w/ my own kids was hard but vital. Social change happens when we all speak against injustice.
Great article on #AsianAmerican#books by @smegallywrites on @BookRiot blog:https://t.co/bN31PlnN0K for the record the first kidlit authors whose books I read only in my twenties but whom I felt encouraged me unseen were @LindaSuePark and #LawrenceYep
A review of a century of evidence shows that cloth masks are, indeed, effective at blocking droplet and aerosol contamination of the environment -- which could help reduce the transmission of #COVID-19. | @MacHealthSci@CMClase@STJOESHAMILTON https://t.co/4CFiDJXCTf
Throughout the month of June, CBC Books will be highlighting the @ForestofReading finalists in each category leading up to the virtual ceremonies. #ForestofReading https://t.co/MXla52knB7
My tsundoku is growing and growing with new releases to support fellow authors. Guilt? Maybe a bit, but it's tempered with thinking of each purchase as a virtual hug to my brothers and sisters in the publishing world. xo
Lost In Translation – an illustrated catalogue of beautifully untranslatable words from around the world (like "tsundoku," Japanese for that guilt-pile of books you've bought but haven't read) https://t.co/XYxD5nYMVU
This is only the 3rd most impressive thing @DollyParton has ever done. The 1st is: wrote “I Will Always Love You” and “Jolene” in the SAME DAY. 2nd is: served as an executive producer on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. 4th could be: become my BFF . After she cures COVID of course.🤞🏼
As a diabetic, I've learned to phone my pharmacy first to make sure my meds arrive before leaving self-isolation to go into the store. I've also learned to order 7-10 days in advance, just in case they're short-shipped.
