@AJWVictoriaBC It takes about 15-20 years in Hawaii to break even on solar panels + batteries, and electricity costs 45 cents / kWh. How long is the break even in BC with electricity costing around 11 cents/kwh and less annual sunlight hours. 100 years?

Allocating long cad capital has few options in Canada (energy or banking). Add in rate and currency risk and the capital flight to US makes sense.

I've learned the hard way that real estate is an easy confiscation target by budget hungry bureaucrats.
Unmovable capital is under attack.
Apparently a lot of rental homes now have landlord controlled ring cameras (often on a cellular connection). They're outward facing so not "invasive" even though the mics can apparently pick up the sound in the front of your house.
Unreal and it seems you have no way to opt out.
