Maybe there’s more pertinent background to the 14 yr old that hasn’t or can’t be shared but I can’t fathom why someone would refuse intubation for their child in the setting of respiratory failure.

My heart aches for you, your co-workers and those you lost this shift. The 14 year old’s parents? Hard to feel compassion for them if they refused their daughter standard medical care.
