@jadenmac8 Hi Jaden! You make a good point! Recorded music is so much more accessible and cheaper then going to see a live concert, the elements of recorded music make the songs more interesting and energetic! #POPMUSW22
@rebeccagnoel I completely agree, live music is great and entertaining while providing the visual elements but when you are used to listening to a recorded version it can be disappointing when the songs sound different. #POPMUSW22
#POPMUSW22 I agree with Wald’s assessment, many young people enjoy listening to pre-recorded music because of auto-tune and other features that make these songs fun and energetic! Live music is great but sometimes lacks features of the recorded song.
@JoanSwackhamer Good point! It was completely unfair to these original artists to have what they worked so hard for, taken and sold by someone else. It is clear to see money is all that was being thought about in these times. #POPMUSW22
@jadenmac8 I completely agree! The people who worked hard to create this music need to be given the full credit and attention they deserve for the music they created! #POPMUSW22
#POPMUSW22 The music from this era is “schlock” because many white artists created new lyrics to these songs which took away from the original meaning. I believe anyone should be allowed to take inspiration from a piece, but people should receive proper credit.
@CFloden02 Absolutely, his voice portrays so much power and emotion which stands out from other musicians! Music is so meaningful when artists make their struggles felt by their audience. #POPMUSW22
@jadenmac8 I completely agree! His voice is so strong and powerful which could be symbolic for his struggles & how he is persevering through them! #POPMUSW22
#POPMUSW22 I think Ray Charles used a breaking voice as a way to stand out from his fellow musicians! Having a distinct voice is a very important way to sound memorable and be a singer that people remember! His voice signifies emotion and power in his music!
@josie16t Absolutely Josie! I never wanted AirPods because I feared losing them since there was no wire & I thought the price was outrageous but they became so hyped and popular so I invested in a pair, they are worth the hype! #POPMUSW22
@LarissaCostello I agree! Apple Music created a platform where I can make multiple playlists depending on my mood & it introduced me to so many genres I never knew I liked! I love the option to view what other people are listening to as well #POPMUSW22
#POPMUSW22 Bluetooth & wireless speakers have largely changed the way my friends and I listen to music! They introduce new music to one another and creates a positive atmosphere where everyone bonds over similar music during activities!
@josie16t Good points, I believe there are many aspects to popular music like drugs/alcohol consumption, body image & relationships that give young teens the idea of how they should live! #POPMUSW22
A ‘false need’ that has been created by popular music or media industries is the perception of the perfect body image. A lot of popular music today refers to an “ideal” & “desirable” body image and beauty standards. #POPMUSW22
@jadenmac8 I agree! I enjoy listening to songs that provoke thought and meaning over meaningless lyrics, I feel more connected to the song & that I can relate more when there is a true meaning. I find a lot of today’s popular music lacks in this! #POPMUSW22
