I switched to @OpenAI GPT-5.6 and it found the real root cause. A later AXP2101 init was overwriting the board’s factory power rails. So the system looked healthy, while the actual speaker path was broken. Preserving the V2 PMIC config brought the continuous alert sound back.

GPT-5.6 solved in 30 minutes what GPT-5.4 couldn’t solve in hours.
I was debugging an ESP32-S3 audio bug where boot music worked, but alert audio stayed silent even though detection, codec, PA, and I2S all appeared to be working.
After hours of dead ends with @OpenAI GPT-5.4,

A simple question I’ve been exploring:

Which workloads actually belong in orbit — and when?

Not every AI / compute workload benefits from space-based GPU compute infrastructure.

The more useful framing is a phase-wise workload roadmap:

P1 → GPU compute only
P2 → + low-cost power
P3 → + LISL + constellation fusion

Early winners:
✓ EO preprocessing
✓ RF signal intelligence
✓ 3D reconstruction

Less obvious:
✕ LLM training (early)
△ batch inference (later)

The key insight:
GPU Compute will first replace bandwidth only for space-native, delay-tolerant workloads and, then, other workloads will follow.
