It's the last day for the outgoing @durhamSU officers and I guess JCR Presidents too - has been a real pleasure working alongside you all with @ucuatdurham & other campus unions.
Best of luck for next steps & welcome to the new officers!
It's been an absolute pleasure to be a sabb officer for the last two years, and I'm really proud of everything that we've achieved at Durham in that time.
Next in our Officer reflections, we have the lovely Laura!✨
To switch things up, Laura's done a video discussing the highlights of their time as an Officer, watch it here: https://t.co/Y0T6dvF8Bn (1/3)
✨ Officer Reflections/Leaving Video ✨
My time as Welfare and Liberation Officer is almost at an end! With just a few days left until I leave, come with me as I reflect on the work I’ve done this past year 💖💜

On the 87th anniversary of the Spanish Civil War we remember our comrades from across Durham and the North East who sailed to Spain to fight the scourge of fascism.
Today their struggle and solidarity is immortalised at @RedhillsDurham
Viva la Quinta Bridgada, no pasaran!
Nye Bevan spoke at the Durham Miners' Gala for the seventh and final time #OnThisDay in 1959.
He died ten days before the following year’s Gala, at the age of 62.
You will also be very missed @JoshuaFreeston3, all the best for next steps!
Josh has been another amazing ally on the SU and great student leader inspiring undergrads to recognise our shared struggle against those who exploit us.
Powerful words here on e.g. student housing crisis
It's been a pleasure to work with Josh for the last year! He's been an absolute pillar of solidarity, and the voice of the Union's conscience in some very trying times - sure he'll go on to great things in the near future!
Next up in our fond farewells is your 2022-23 Undergraduate Academic Officer Joshua Freestone
Josh spent his year fighting for the rights of both students and staff, making some real positive changes across Durham👏
We'll miss you Josh 🥲

James Edward Harvey MacDonald was a Canadian artist, a member of the influential ‘Group of Seven’ artists. He was born in Durham City, at 50 New Elvet. This photograph shows the site of the house just after demolition in the 1960s (now Dunelm house). #DUCollections
Another fantastic Durham miners’ gala on Saturday.
The brilliant @fbunational pipers on firm.
The tune is The Bloody Fields of Flanders - used for the song Freedom Come All Ye by Hamish Henderson.
Great pic of @LGSMpride Founding member Mike Jackson @mikeinpride marching past the County's famous balcony on Saturday at the @DurhamGala
We stand on the shoulders of these Socialist Giants! ❤️🏳️🌈✊🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
It was a joy as always this weekend to be at the miners' gala with friends and comrades old and new, including some of our @durhamSU team. It's my last one as a Durham resident, but I'll be back every year! 🚩
We had a trial run tonight putting the Blackhall DMA banner together ready for the @DurhamGala on Saturday.
It’s quite a fitting tribute that on the 75th anniversary of our NHS we had its creator the inimitable Aneurin Bevan looking out at us.
In the coming weeks, we will be preparing to say some very sad goodbyes to your 2022-23 Officers 😢 but before they go, we asked them to reflect on their time in the role.
Up first is Opportunities Officer, Jack! https://t.co/2M0LjyR6so
As my time in the role comes to an end, I reflected on some of what's happened in the last two years - thanks are due to the amazing @durhamSU staff, the other officers, and all the great students and societies I've worked with in that time!
