Our wildfire professionals face incredible challenge and risk. They shouldn’t be shackled by bureaucratic sclerosis as they try to protect our communities.
Change is hard…but change is coming.
Congratulations to the men and women of the United States Wildland Fire Service. Chief Fennessy and the USWFS are working hard every day for the American People, the great public lands they serve and the communities they protect to establish a purpose built, mission driven Wildland Fire Service that every firefighter and the American People can be proud of. Today’s wildland fire environment and more importantly, the future wildland fire environment will demand it!🫡

Our wildland firefighters are some of our most critical first responders in America. They have been historically under-resourced and underpaid.
As the entire nation grapples with the threat of wildfire, it’s time to give these heroes the pay and tools they need to fight, win, and come home safely. #NationalWildlandFirefighterDay
24/7/365, all 50 states. Wildfire threatens red and blue states alike.
Call on your elected leaders to support the unification of all wildland firefighting operations within the U.S. Wildland Fire Service so we can better prepare for fires, protect our communities, and save lives.
No more business as usual. Time to get serious on defending our communities from wildfire.
Current annual average snow totals across the Western United States….
Some big precipitation needed, otherwise it might be an early and active spring fire season.
No individual perspective could ever adequately describe the January wildfire disaster. The event forever changed a piece of Southern California. Communities destroyed, lives lost. We think about these communities heavily today. The strength, generosity, compassion and sense of service was also part of this disaster. The heroism by our local firefighters and those that came to assist can not be fully commended. I am incredibly proud of our firefighters and public safety officials that put themselves in great danger to save lives on January 7th. 🙏
