I personally own the game on both PS3 and Xbox 360 and can only speak for myself. Its not the mod creators job to make sure that the people who use it own the game

@duo_inc_rep Like I am allowed to sell or give away the physical disc or cartridge I purchased, but if I rip the data then sell or give that away, it is basically looked at like if I were making new counterfeit copies of it and selling them

@duo_inc_rep A big thing in both US and EU law is that if you purchase something physical, you have full rights to modify or repair it in any way you see fit. If we buy a game disc or a game cartridge, then we are allowed to rip it or mod it. It becomes an issue if you redistribute or sell it

@yubibiseth I think the biggest issue is that in Japan y'all seem to see modding and pirating as one and the same, whereas in the West they are 2 legally distinct thing, where modding is fully legal and pirating isnt

@kazeho2106 It is not illegal at all to use this. It is a mod. They are not giving you the game, you still have to use your own disc to play it on your pc. It is entirely legal.

@bamboo_milktub The biggest issue is that yall see modding and piracy as the same thing. In the US or Europe if we buy a game we can rip it and mod it all we want legally as long as we dont redistribute it. The Tekken 6 PC Port Mod does not break any laws here

@Tatibana_2 Modding isnt piracy. We can legally mod games all we want here. Distributing anything owned by the rights holder is whats illegal here. The tekken pc port is 100% legal in the US as long as you provide the files from your own copy of the game.

@kinsiosio @Xingu1arity_ I will clarify that Pirating is illegal, but ripping them yourself, and modding them is fully legal in many countries. If I own the physical Tekken 6 in the US, I can rip it and mod it all I want and it is completely legal.

@taitan2121 @lordchefmcd In the US if I own a physical copy of the game then I can in fact rip it, emulate it, or modify it in any way I want. Sony learned this when they lost a massive lawsuit here 26 years ago
