@Bgqe5U7R5w32104@Yu_min5000 Don’t worry,we understand. And like many of us said, we will support games and IP from Japan that we like.A lot of people like Japanese games and anime because of the love they put into it and want it to continue.
@Bgqe5U7R5w32104@Yu_min5000 This world is not black and white and people use their understanding and logic to determine the context behind a situation. A lot of people believe not every law should be followed and breaking the law doesn’t mean it’s bad. After all that’s how slave laws were abolished.
@Bgqe5U7R5w32104@Yu_min5000 I hope u at least understand most overseas players would not pirate indie games and want to support creators. But when we see copyright laws getting abused, we think it’s right to stand up to it and that’s how laws improve. We also believe it doesn’t do harm to people that matter
@lin0000198556@gremalix@hime_yumu Do you know, the website with a lot of illegal games and anime have one of the most traffic from Japan? And the original anime and games all have to be bought from Japan in the first place, so why are you blaming overseas as though it doesn’t happen in Japan
@deek_akane@Dustborn_ That’s not the issue, people who pirate games because they want it for free are stealing, but most of these cases appear because so many people want to buy it but are unable to.
In the end there’s nothing to steal since the companies don’t consider them as players.
@Bgqe5U7R5w32104@Yu_min5000 That’s why many people feel the copyright law are flawed and should not be followed so strictly, players want the option to choose to support someone who is genuine.
Do you know, for the indie game silksong, many pirate websites refuse to crack it and just said ‘support the dev’
@Bgqe5U7R5w32104@Yu_min5000 I think that’s a good mindset to have and it’s developed because Japanese companies are people that also take feedback and care about consumers. But elsewhere, what we do is to protect ourselves, companies only want profits and abuse copyright laws to do it.
@Bgqe5U7R5w32104@Yu_min5000 Do you think someone who consciously does crimes would justify their actions, especially when so many different countries share that view?
People who steal and do bad things are doing it and not caring the consequences, the reason people argue is cause we believe it’s not wrong
@Bgqe5U7R5w32104@Yu_min5000 But the point is that the rest of the world don’t view that as stealing, especially when it’s something that’s already not getting support for years.
In the end there is no harm done and it brings benefit, it is not viewed as stealing.
@deek_akane@Dustborn_ No, there will always be people getting it illegally. But that’s the case everywhere isn’t it? The mod requires a legitimate copy, it’s not up to the mod makers to police everyone to buy a copy.
@deek_akane@Dustborn_ https://t.co/SNcWYgqTFu
‘Players need a compatible copy of the original game files to get started’ original game files which refers to buying the original copy
@Bgqe5U7R5w32104@Yu_min5000 https://t.co/l1jWD6Fm4D refer to this as to why piracy is beneficial to companies if companies respond to it properly.
More often than not, piracy is not done with malicious intent but love to the IP. But many Japanese people cannot comprehend breaking and condem it immediately
@Nao_u_@mattoreix@Yuiiqgu@Yu_min5000 Sorry for that, it is an unfortunate situation but I do feel like him and many other Japanese view piracy very differently. In Japan, people view it as, why am I paying for it when I can steal it for free as the motive for piracy.
@Bgqe5U7R5w32104@Yu_min5000 Yes that’s where things differ because we view playing the games as not harming the company. That’s why people believe there’s nothing wrong with it. There are people who hate corporations and want them to burn, but those are the people with hate and taking things to extremes.
@deek_akane@Dustborn_ Yes actually, you need the legitimate copy of tekken 6 to be able to use the mod. That’s how mod works, it modifies the game you bought and play.
@Yu_min5000 In Japan everyone is taught to follow authorities and higher laws without knowing if it’s even correct.
No one considers ‘maybe the law is wrong’ because they have been taught to respect elders and authority figure. Because of this, Japanese mindset is fixed and can’t change.
@Bgqe5U7R5w32104@Yu_min5000 The thing is we believe just because something breaks the law doesn’t mean something is wrong. Please think about that concept for a moment and see if it make sense to you.
