I hate using paper when there are so many digital resources. But this method helped a lot I think. Nowhere near perfect, but it moved me forward from a rut. Shout out to @WhitneyHemsath for encouraging me to try it, and for having index cards on hand. #phdstudent#AcademicChatter

@AAALGrads, I'm looking for someone familiar with coding hand and arm gestures to be a second rater on about 8 interviews I've recorded. Please DM me if you're interested or @ someone who might be. #linguisticstwitter@nmpettitt
I’m proud when PhD students work hard, progress, and succeed. But I think I’m even more proud when they have the courage to say:
I’m not ok, I need to take a step back, I might need help.

As I plan to teach my graduate course, I've been readjusting the syllabus to reflect my stance on "participation points." These engagement expectations demonstrate perfectly my feelings and validates my choice to have even my adult students self-evaluate their level of engagement
This has been my developing stance over the last year. Equity is being emphasized everywhere except in the way we refer to languages other than English in the U.S.
@SraMonell Unfortunately ACTFL, some regionals and state associations have branded the word foreign. They need to change if we are going to make any progress on this.
