@biomechAnthony Yes I agree! I was trying to distinguish from movements that are not so task focused (or where contracting muscles is the task), like flexing to intentionally contract and show off my muscles or generate "maximum voluntary contractions." Interesting!
Biomechanics/motor control question! We may all agree that walking is a "voluntary" movement. But would you classify the muscle contractions that occur during walking as "voluntary"? Seems different than the "voluntary" contraction of my biceps to flex my elbow.
