@TheeGrainLady And the worst clout chasers should never have been handed a microphone or a platform to spew literal garbage. And the worst part is that it’s an unregulated world and that their sphere of influence can do real harm to the people who get suckered into listening to them
@TheeGrainLady When everything became a sales pitch or advertising. This combination of subscription based knowledge sharing and everyone thinking they need to start a podcast is what killed AgTwitter IMO. The amount of garbage shared on here, FB and TikTok these days is enough to vomit.
A lot of people spent a lot of time and money reporting Trump was going to Nuke and wipeout a civilization, with possibly the curveball of the entire administration thus far, instead we have a mutual ceasefire and reopening of the straight on the table 😂😂. But I doubt Israel is going to offer the same grace.
You’re a leader Bodie and you wear the remarks and actions of those who make them while wearing your brand. It’s no different than Sean’s posts and comments about retail on podcasts as Jason, yourself, and I discussed when you approached me about carrying meltdown.
I know you still use synthetics, that’s my whole point, without endless quality manure supply the overwhelming majority will have to use it. My point is the tactics and messaging of some wearing the BW brand is utterly reckless and what’s worse than doing so to sell a product in todays Ag world is to do so for clickbait views on a TikTok or podcast.
I wish we could do build programs, I wish i could pencil to do manure applications with all of the best products both synthetic and biological. And I wish it would pencil for farmers so we could truly leave no stone unturned in dialing in each and every acre. But it doesn’t and therefore we are not, we haven’t run a build program since before Covid and $450 MAP and it’s been years since we have even run removals to reflect a 2 year corn/soy rate.
Bodie we’re not dumb, the anti retail, anti fertilizer BW led campaign against Synthetics this season says otherwise. And it’s sad to see because you’re missing out on a world of synergies. You’re going full circle from being on the open minded leading edge to becoming close minded again. And I’d argue that Danny Gardners videos are just as reckless in spewing recs as over application of p and k. (Which I’m. Not saying isn’t happening still but I’m doubtful there’s that many doing it sub $4 corn and 850+ phos)
The industry shift in fertilizer efficiency and fertilizer treatments, sources, and enhancements is going to Increase exponentially going forward. What I can already do to a basic granule of MAP or MESZ is pretty significant, imagine where that world is 5 and 10 years from now. And liquids is already so far beyond the basic 10-34 or ortho/poly blends that I’m looking at less than 3 gal of actual product as a pop up carrier for the real groceries.
Depending on your populations you’re probably damn close to where you want to be on Applied N to leave top end potential.
As in why let the gas gauge get that dangerously close. Let’s say you have everything dialed and you’re setting N use efficiency at .4 to reflect 40#’s N per 1 percent OM mineralization on a 3.5 soil giving 140 back to pair with your 100 applied.
Are you willing to give up the top end in search of maximum N Use Efficiency or are you trying to prove you can reliably mineralize more?
And the x factor being you likely have not found the maximum yield/1 k sds flex of a truly happy plant. Happy corn with Field averages in the 8’s and zones pushing 11 or better. That’s a 90 bushel difference and even at .4 that’s 35# applied.
I could keep going and going here. Ive run these out many times before at that 130-140 range is a solid coverage area to be in. And when it’s not a one and done you’re not overloading, you can adjust as things unfold.
I know you guys have been on an anti synthetic war path this year but that’s a battle for another day. If I were you, I’d be looking heavily into what you can pair with, treat with, and look at synthetics being the mule to carry the goods. That’s my two cents from a guy who is very happy pairing both worlds of inputs.
@ChrisK_Banded I know the players in this sphere and I along with many I feel want a truly scientific and independent party as it’s incredibly convenient to have the problems identified for the solutions already manufactured and marketed on a nearly force fed level. That’s my 2 cents
@CRNAfarmer2 In retail I greatly value companies that run Minimum Advertised Pricing. It’s them saying, if you want to carry our products you’re not going to sell it any less than “x” price. That makes service of and after the sale more important and keeps the WalMarts of the world out.
@McNeilBJ@eichstadt_jay@DamianPMason@KellyGarrett75@raythesoilguy It’s also a taproot and generally a far cry in comparison to your fibrous roots like a good wheatgrass. I’ve had good luck with some of Renovo’s blends but agree it’s not the easiest to balance.
@JasonSchley The better job at measuring mineralization we do the better we can predict it going forward. When you see Dakota soils giving 120+ pounds back on years like this it’s easy to say cut back. Soy stubble was much more active and giving than wheat stubble in my neck of the woods.
@twostarfarmer Seems like your buffer pH may not be as nice, what kind of Lime?
98G Pell lime on paper would be around 900# with buffer of 6.5. I have a feeling your BPH may be closer to 6.2-6.3 range.
Stick with it and see what it looks like next fall IMO
