I mean, Vitalik, the champion of ETH, famously said bitcoin was not turning complete and that programming smart contracts on it was impossible.
Which turns out to be a massively embarrassing mistake, which pretty much discounts him as having ANYTHING to do with the design of Bitcoin.

So can be said about EVERYONE at Blockstream... Or anyone like Nick Szabo, or Adam Back who also were adamant that you could not do programming on bitcoin. Yet, with the original OPCODES of bitcoin re-enabled on BSV, now you can. You can effectively loop. You can have a payment depend on the output conditions of the payment.

ONLY Craig was saying this.

This IMHO, is why he is the most knowledgeable human on Bitcoin. Because it is not the small meaningless details like hash-encoding of address minutiae that matters (that any programmer is bound to forget over the years) it is the fundamental DESIGN architecture and CAPABILITIES of a system that only the designer would know about.

IN this category...
1) Bitcoin IS turing unbounded
2) The double-hash allows for separation of txn validation from block building, and for pruning to work without affecting the audit-ability of the blockchain
3) Bitcoin CAN scale to beat VISA.
