This isn't "Fast & The Furious" so there's no cars, or Vin Diesel punching a bomb, but this movie does have one thing in common with those movies and that's...FAMILY.
The Furious is a Hong Kong action film where the story revolves around a man who is mute, but also works as a mechanic, and his daughter is coming to stay with him for the time being. You can tell that they have a lot of unresolved issues, which I like that they added some tension between them, but suddenly she is kidnapped by traffickers and thus begins the plot of him tracking them down and rescuing his daughter.
Now...the action in this film is really the star of the film. Not to take anything away from the actors in the film. I thought the lead Xie Miao did a great job at speaking more with his facials...and his fists (POW) I legit thought he was mute and I actually had to do a google search, and he's not. He also played Jet Li's son in a movie; impressive. There was also Joe Taslim who was just Subzero in the Mortal Kombat films and he was good as well. Him and Miao had good chemistry with each other.
The movie I also thought was paced really well. There was never a moment of drag or even boredom. They kept the audience hooked from the beginning and even during scenes of just dialogue, they still kept me engaged. But yeah...the action was amazing. This has to be the best action I've seen since John Wick 4. There were some instances where I was thinking: "Well...that should have killed him" but I was able to look past it.
For any criticisms it was very small, and more so "Me Problems" and it was just a small nit-pick I had with the villains. Now obviously, traffickers make you an automatic heel, so eff those guys right. The film started off with who we thought was the villain but then shifted to who the actual villain was and that dude I thought was better and more interesting and I thought could've used more time for buildup. But that's just me. But all in all, I loved this film. This was balls to the wall, action and you'd be doing yourself a disservice for missing this.
GRADE: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (A)
Congrats New York on getting their first chip in 53 years. The better team won. I'm happy for my Spurs for getting there, but they have a lot of growing up to do and will have more chances to make it back. They have a lot of work to do in the off season, that's for sure.
Lastly, fuck De'aaron Fox, fuck Danhausen and fuck Coleslaw.
Absolute disappointment
Poor coaching.
De'Aaron Fox was dog shit ALL PLAYOFFS
Leading every single game
Couldn't control leads
Just handed the Knick's their title
