I once we remember we were reading in a group in primary school, and I was several pages ahead of everyone else. The teacher asked us where we were, and when I told her she said “stop skipping ahead, go back to where everyone else is” 😂

There is another option besides ‘able-bodied’ or ‘disabled’. You can be able-bodied and disabled. It isn’t one or the other.

It’s also worth saying, the only reason I now have reasonable adjustments is because I got my diagnosis 6 years after being assessed. Diagnoses are crucial and waiting times cause a lot of uncertainty for young people who need this support for their education

Reasonable adjustments are key to ensuring autistic people reach their full potential, I never had reasonable adjustments in school and it contributed to anxiety and meltdowns, at uni I do have adjustments in place and I feel much more capable.
