For the people that hate on Bruno Fernandes it’s as if they’ve been waiting for the day he eventually drops off which every single player will one day. Also, one game into the season doesn’t mean he’s suddenly “washed.” Far from it in-fact.
United fans can’t rewrite history that he’s been the best player post Ferguson on a consistent basis by a mile. No one comes close.
I’ve accepted that we aren’t signing anyone else this window.
We’ll end up saying “no value in the market”, sell a couple of players and probably finish with a positive net spend.
£22m net spend in the biggest midfield rebuild we’ve had in years, for a manager who’s had title-winning points form since he came in.
I’ve got absolutely no expectations left at this point. Might as well protect my sanity.
Anyway, wonder how that Amazon series is going...
Last season, INEOS used PSR rules and the lack of Champions League football as excuses for not signing players.
One year later, PSR apparently isn’t an issue anymore and Champions League football is back, yet they’ve signed less players than when those “issues” supposedly existed.
Now they’re using inflated prices, the wage structure, “smart recruitment” and whatever else as excuses for not spending money.
I’m genuinely curious what excuse they’ll come up with next season, because it’s becoming as clear as daylight that this is all part of a very well planned strategy.
THE INEOS CYCLE:
January: When fans demand signings, brief credible journalists like Ornstein that they’re “getting the house in order for summer” so fans think they’re preparing something big.
Summer: Launch a full force PR campaign to convince fans they’re being smart, recruiting smart, won’t overpay because that’s a bad thing, won’t sign players who don’t choose United first, blah blah blah…
All of it just so they don’t have to spend money.
How the fxck are people still not clocking this? If you don’t see it yet, then let's talk again in January when they’re getting the house in order for next summer... 😫
I’ve watched this video countless times. It’s unbelievable.
That winning feeling. The dressing room after a big result. The banter. You can’t replicate it. Whatever the level. 👏🏻⚽️
