Some Glazer family members studying stake sale per @hellierd at Bloomberg.
Let’s look at the new news here. It is some family members reportedly looking to sell some of their stake. This comes at a time United are exploring funding options for the new stadium.
As we know, the Glazers are unlikely to put funding towards the new stadium. Per some prior analysis (link below), #MUFC are unlikely to be able to fund a stadium build entirely through debt.
This creates an opportunity for INEOS to take a bigger stake or new investors to come in as part of a stadium financing package. Reminder, the 3yr lock up for INEOS ends in Feb 2027 whereby an investor needs to pay $33 per share minimum. After that point it is most probable (imo), Glazers and INEOS would push for highest possible valuation (it’s in both their financial interests to do so).
If it is new external investors that can help fund a stadium that deal would most likely, in my opinion, be to take a slice of some future stadium earnings to make their return. Would be a complex structure and not easy.

Some members of the billionaire Glazer family have been debating whether to sell their stake in Manchester United FC, after more than 20 years of ownership that has often been blighted by fan protest https://t.co/yn8zjFzVG5
🚨 Manchester City see opening bid for Elliot Anderson rejected by Nottingham Forest. Pursuit ongoing. Forest expected to want more for Anderson than £105m Arsenal paid for Declan Rice.
Fees viewed as too high for #MUFC.

@mket_7 I think 90% of people on here have not watched him to have an opinion either way. I’ve watched him maybe 2/3 times and he never really stood out to me, but last summer’s recruitment means I’ll give them benefit of the doubt for now
