Sound a great until resellers setup bot accounts that stream popular artists 24/7 to secure the reserved tickets from normal people that don't listen to music 24/7.
Spotify announces new โReservedโ feature, which will allow artists to set aside concert tickets for fans on the platform.
It will use streams, shares and other forms of activity to identify an artistโs most dedicated fans and hold two tour tickets for them.
The fans will then have a day-long window to purchase the tickets.
@SimpleThoosie@ReflectiveRuby2@codeHusky What happens when a new file type becomes mainstream and your media server becomes useless because it was never updated? Or you buy a new TV with an OS unsupported by your 6-year-old copy of Plex, or it becomes slow and inefficient because it was never built for newer hardware?
@ReflectiveRuby2@SimpleThoosie@codeHusky The people that make those updates need to be paid and so they need to make money somehow. But I do agree the 750 price tag is a lot, it's obviously an attempt to force people into their subscription model.
@SimpleThoosie@ReflectiveRuby2@codeHusky Apart from feature updates which are common.
Security updates - so your server isn't hacked
Bug fixes - so the server doesn't die
Compatibility updates - so the software handles new hardware (something jellyfin lacks)
Compliance/legal updates - so they don't get sued
