Been saying this kind of thing about the Rust Belt for awhile.
When Hobbit and I got married in Corning (the small city famous for GorillaGlass and global fiber optic production), every one of our venues from the Parish to the baker to the florist referred to us as "THE wedding" in a city of 10,000.
People we spoke to were so unusually happy about it, and I think the rarity of lovey dovey Catholics in their 20s getting married was adding onto the already joyous occasion.

@nyland_evan@GabrielHudelson The ones I watched with the wife didn't often do this, but I do know what you're talking about.
I hate love triangles in general. When I read romantic comedy manga back when I was single, I would put it down the second they tried setting one up.
@wrathofgnon The psychological component (especially for women) is very underrepresented.
If she's in the mood 4 times a week, she is de-stressed enough to where she is able to ovulate regularly and healthily.
@MizusPuddle Being downright misogynistic and not having female friends is what this incentivizes. Because it's more likely to end up getting you married.
@OrdinariateUSA > They left the church because the Irish bishops betrayed them.
The most the bishops did was take their place in society for granted. It's not like they lined up Irishmen and shot them.
Ireland today IS a punishment for them leaving the faith.
@TARSRel0aded The conspiracy theory that this may be a way to force government regulation on their open source competition is very likely true.

It is fascinating how Jews and Muslims concede that Christ's miracles were very much real, but will insist that it wasn't of God.
This is why it's really hard to accept the Church's teaching that they worship the same cosmic being, because they regularly oppose Christ and all His works and side with beings that hate Him.
