Doug Ford
-went to the US, didn’t join a meeting
-no trade deals signed
-no new business for Ontario
-wasted likely 20-50k in tax dollars
This is called being a failed businessman.
17 months ago, @fordnation called an election 17 months early. He needed a mandate to deal with Trump! How’s that going?
Without the early call, Ontario would be headed to the polls in 6 weeks and none of his secret agenda would in play.
No Bill 33
No retroactive FOI changes
No Bill 101
No Billy Bishop Airport appropriation
No jet purchases
No new plans to fill in part of the Toronto waterfront to build a new convention centre
No ‘Protect Ontario’ ads that the Auditor General determines are partisan in nature and not public service announcements
These are major developments in which the Ontario electorate was not consulted. The Premier acts unilaterally and expects a parade. Premier Ford had an election campaign to share his plans, debate the pros/cons and give voters an opportunity to decide.

Premier Ford, elbows up. Stand by your words and tell JP Morgan, and their lobbyists, that Toronto's waterfront isn't for sale.
While I'm at it, here's the truth: Without even sharing a business model or plan, your government is barreling ahead with legislation to bring jets to our lakefront, expropriate Toronto's park lands and sideline the voices of our residents.
If you're not consulting with the public, or working with Toronto as a partner, who has your ear?
"Torontonians have a right to be concerned that an American investment bank is behind such a massive, and so far seemingly successful, campaign to permanently change Toronto’s waterfront."
@PuckDontLie They said complications on an undisclosed surgery for an undisclosed condition at an undisclosed location and will be out for an undisclosed period of time. Nothing fishy at all.
My office has been waiting 249 days for the release of nine emails exchanged between an Infrastructure Ontario Vice President and Therme’s legal counsel related to the #OntarioPlace megaspa scandal.
It's been 14 days since Ontario's Information & Privacy Commissioner required Infrastructure Ontario to hand over the emails to us.
There has only been silence from Infrastructure Ontario.

My latest in the Toronto Star: There’s a reason the Scarborough Subway, SmartTrack and Line 1 extension into Richmond Hill weren’t built on time or on budget- and a Highway 401 tunnel or bringing jets to Billy Bishop won’t either. I have a simple solution. https://t.co/lifyPcx8gR
Good points by Chris Glover…
$3B will add 23M passengers at Pearson
Billy Bishop will cost $5B to add 8M passengers
And where’s the money going to come from?
Pearson will self-finance through retained earnings
There’s no way Billy Bishop’s $30M revenue can finance $5B
