I decoupled from the GOP in about 1997 or ‘98. I never joined the Libertarian Party, but I definitely identify as a “small L” constitutional libertarian. I’ve still voted for Republicans more often than any other choices (and NEVER a Democrat). But even that is becoming increasingly difficult. The GOP is no longer simply failing us. They are actively and openly working against us and somehow gaslighting the majority of their base to keep supporting them … as if they are somehow demonstrably different from Democrats, when and where it matters most. Unfortunately, they are not.
