We're inviting individuals & organizations to submit stories of change, case studies, pictures and videos, sourced from within the Eastern African region, documenting positive social and gender norms for publication. For details, send an email to [email protected]
We are currently accepting abstracts for scholarly, policy and practice chapters on agency, social and gender norms that shall be published in an edited volume.
Those who wish to contribute are invited to contact the technical lead at [email protected] by 12 August 2024.

Analyzing the State of Education: Adherence to equity measures by all stakeholders still an issue like absence of policies, unfavorable infrastructure for learners with disability, Lack of bylaws in some LGs to address GBV, child labour, early marriages, teenage pregnancies.

This should be looked at from different angles.

Dr. Agaba - "Any efforts to work with gender norms towards the improvement of women rights must look at the practice 'living customary law' and its amenability to change." #LetsTalkSocialAndGenderNorms@CAREUganda
Dr. Agaba - "Culture is a site of multiple possibilities where indigenous groups, as agents; actively and strategically invent and reinvent. In process of constituting customary law, women were excluded, their rights eroded as new customs were fashioned to serve male interests."
