Welcome to #Kelowna! We look forward to seeing all our members tomorrow at our Conference & AGM!
We had a great turn out! A special thanks to @RoofingCABC and @MCABC members for joining us!
We also want to give a special thanks to Jamieson Virgin from @McMillanLLP for taking the time to join ECABC President @Matt_MacInnis for a special webinar on BC's Construction Prompt Payment Act. The legislation will provide construction contractors and suppliers with important new tools to ensure they get paid in a fairly and reasonable timeline for work they have done.
We always look forward to hosting collaborative sessions with our fellow Associations.
Last week, ECABC President @Matt_MacInnis joined New Economy Canada partners, including ECABC member @SchneiderElec, to meet with BC Premier @Dave_Eby, Minister of Energy and Climate Solutions @adriandix, and Ministry of Finance senior officials to discuss opportunities to support economic growth and development through expansion of our electricity capacity and stronger integration of our energy and electricity systems.
The delegation included representatives from New Economy Canada, mining, renewable power production, technology and EV charging infrastructure. ECABC’s play a unique role as an interconnection between this group of stakeholders, facilitating every stage of the power lifecycle from generation to transmission to installation for end users – weather that’s a major critical minerals mine or someone charging their car.
ECABC reiterated our message that new provincial funding for @SkilledTradesBC is very positive, but that the key measurement needs to be how many apprentices obtain their Red Seal certification – not the creation of new training seats. The most effective way to increase the number of skilled tradespeople is to better support apprentices currently in the system and improving completion rates.
The countdown is officially on! 🗓️👈
Thank you to our members and industry partners for an incredible show of support. We are officially SOLD OUT!
We look forward to welcoming you to Kelowna in 4 days! 🙌

ECABC was proud to be a sponsor of Generate 2026, hosted by @CleanEnergyBC! 💡
British Columbia needs to significantly, and rapidly, expand its generation of electricity to meet our domestic and economic needs. Two recent Calls for Power from @bchydro have resulted in 14 new projects getting approved, and ECABC's members are poised to support the construction of new projects, transmission and other grid upgrades required to put this power to work.
