Early Care & Education Pathways to Success is a sector intermediary and sponsor of registered #apprenticeship programs in child and family services.
#ECEPTS
Trad. apprenticeship employers pay participants a wage, which can be challenging in public & nonprofit sectors.
ECEPTS worked w/ @CCRC4KIDS, @JVSSoCal & @LACountyWDACS to secure Expanded Subsidized Employment funds to pay apprentice wages for the AV Home Visitor Apprenticeship.
The new registered Home Visitor Apprenticeship, designed in partnership with Ellen Cervantes at @CCRC4KIDS, seeks to recruit mothers who have benefited from home visiting services to be trained to become home visitors themselves.
Child care provider Carmen Del Alamo tried to go back to college for years, but it wasn't until she enrolled in an apprenticeship that she finally earned a teacher permit.
These programs are growing, but there's still a missing 🧩— more 💰.

Great news! The #CAbudget waives some test requirements for teacher candidates with sufficient coursework. Assuming we reinstate an #ECE Teaching Credential, this will breakdown a big barrier to success for the ECE workforce! #PathwaysToSuccess
Teacher candidates no longer have to take the California Basic Skills Test, or CBEST, or the California Subject Matter Exams for Teachers, referred to as CSET to earn a credential. #caedu#edchat#caleg#capol

Investing in the #CareEconomy means prioritizing higher wages and #workforcedevelopment for care workers. This includes investing in #ECE#apprenticeship programs, which are a proven recruitment and retainment strategy for workers in Head Start and Family Child Care.
Care work is the foundation of our economy, and we must take significant steps with the American Families and Jobs Plan to invest in our #CareEconomy and improve conditions and compensation for care workers nationwide.
NEW POLLING: Battleground voters from all parties support paid leave, and they agree it can't wait; they want it passed now as a jobs and infrastructure priority. #PaidLeaveForAll
